MRI's, MRI's, MRI's! I know, there arent any for bi polar attributes but then again, even if there were, most doctors still wouldn't prescribe what we need to function. In addition to handing one of Dr. Cochrans books to your doctor, there are numerous articles supporting Opiate Therapy for depression/bi-polar. Look into the article Ignorance Kills. It confirmed what I have known since I was 17 and dabbled with heroin. I never understood why after we did heroin my friends would be nodding out and I would be like, "c'mon guys, lets go here! Lets go there! I went from a melancholy baby to an active sociable teen. I developed vertigo a few years prior and now its out of control again. Occasional visits to ER for acute back injuries and a few opiates afforded relief from vertigo as well as back pain. Upon my first 'official' pain treatment the vertigo subsided completely. Not being able to maintain consistent pain management disrupts EVERY aspect of my life. I finally went back to school after dropping out of high school 40 years ago and getting a GED. When i was dropped from an excellent pain management for 'language' (maybe not so excellent if that was all it took), the new place put my on something that knocked me out! I had to quit school again, became bedridden due to the lethargy and developed a deep vein thrombosis. The pain was excruciating and again I got dropped from pain management for yeah... screaming in agony on their voice mail!. Is it patient abandonment if I was in 'crisis' mode? Depa? Your 22, you have your whole life ahead of you so know this. What Satan meant for evil God will use for good. You have been uniquely created! These are not disorders of the brain. God created you in such a way so that you can accomplish what he has called you to do. Im not da bossa you, but prayerfully reflect on your attributes, qualities, abilities, skills, talent etc. Thank God for them. Begin journaling on your good days and don't stress the bad ones. Those are meant for days of rest. Bipolar is just a liberal/left slang for 'multitasker'. So remember you are in good company. I don't know of any billionaire, inventor, genius, etc who weren't bipolar and hey! Most of them WERE on opiates. Check out your state laws regarding 'Intractable Pain Treatment', the article Ignorance Kills, Endorphine Deficiency Syndrome, The Plant of Joy by Sir William Osler, and A Cure For Treatment Resistance Depression or" Endogenous Opioid. Deficiency by Thomas Rees. You can print these out to give to your doctors until you are able to buy Dr Cochran book. If you have a psychiatrist look up Treatment Augmentation With Opiates in Severe and Refractory Major Depression --American Journal of Pyschiatry December 1998. I will keep you in prayer Depo, it WILL get better. Try interviewing doctors before going to them, that will avoid doctor shopping. Unfortunately Im starting to fire the ones that cant or wont meet my needs. I hope I don't have to move to Colorado.

do u have any advice on how to find a dr that will try opiate therapy? i have tried everything and life is unbearable. i am wary to self medicate myself since street opiates are inconsistant and insidious.

i am stuck between a rock and a hard place. at least 9/10 psychiatrists i call are full up on patients and the rest laugh as soon as i mention opiates and shake their head when i mention your book and cite countless cases on the internet.

i will move/fly ANYWHERE!

My girlfriend and I were both previous patients of Dr. Robert Cochran. He saved my life. I am one of the patients noted in his book, "The Opiate Cure". This one chapter barely scratches the surface of my story. Doctor Cochran saved my life, and now it appears, it will end shortly. I suffer from chronic cluster headaches. Unfortunately, Doctor Cochran's replacement is not of the same mindset. I am at my end and no one seems to care.
